I wonder if the ocean counts its thoughts
passing through the waves?
Does it express its tranquil moments
in a calm body, and
its anger with the raging waves?
At high tide and low, its body of heaving water
rocks the waves like babies held in its loving bosom.
On full moon nights, dancing like a flamenco dancer
the ocean sends drops of water
to the sky, where the droplets gather
in a night of romance
and then they fall back to the ocean
united in the water cycle.
Dear Ocean,
What do you say to me
with your hushing and rushing all the while?
