An unwelcome guest. Grief comes to take over
our smiles, laughter, and happy thoughts,
and it makes every breath an act of pain.
Grief doesn’t come alone but hidden under its dark cloak
it brings Sorrow, Tears, Sadness, Heartache, and more.
Grief comes to invite us to a party of Seekers of Death.
The deeper the sorrow, the easier it seems
to give up life and die: an accessible refuge to take.
But here is the thing,
Grief and Happiness are two friends like Yin and Yang
they follow us on every step side by side
and Yin, our favorite one must give Yang a place
knowing well that when Yang takes over, we fall and cry.
Grief, when it comes, challenges us to stand firm
on a solid rock of Hope, it tests our Faith.
No matter how raging the sea,
we stand firm on a solid rock of Hope
and have Faith that the storm shall pass, too.
Grief is breathing hard and slow
knowing that the heart shall stop one day.
